JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Creative Producer at Curated Place, you play a pivotal role in the conceptualisation, planning, and execution of festivals , events and creative productions. Working under the guidance of the Senior Producer, you collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure creative excellence, alignment with the Curated Place and event brand, the client/brief, outputs and outcomes. Your responsibilities span from project initiation to delivery, encompassing artistic community engagement, resource management, and budget oversight and scheduling.

The role is responsible for:

  • Client liaison, communication, management and record keeping
  • Management and delivery of Curated Place events and production activities across the full company portfolio of events traveling nationally and internationally where required
  • Live production management and delivery on site including artist liaison, logistics, H&S oversight and documentation
  • Meeting production targets including artwork development and delivery, audience development and income generation
  • The management of designated Curated Place budgets and any other project budgets
  • Pitching, fundraising, and stakeholder management
  • Recruiting and managing any sub contractors to deliver productions where approved by the senior producer and in accordance with budgets available
  • Developing strategic networks alongside the delivery of Curated Place’s business plan internationally

Interim Senior Producer and Programmer – YOUR TRUST, closes 25 Mar

Currently we operate two theatre venues, Middleton Arena and Heywood Civic Centre. Our Heywood venue is currently closed and about to undergo a fabulous new refurbishment opening in 2025.

A third new venue is to be created in Touchstones, our art gallery and museum in the centre of Rochdale. This building is also undergoing a significant transformation – again opening in 2025. Both projects are jointly funded by Arts Council England and Rochdale BC and sit within the borough’s ambitious plans as an ACE Priority Place.

The assignment will kick-start the development of a wide and varied programme of activities covering professional, community, artist development, cultural and sporting genres to grow audiences and participation and increase earned income. Ideally, we are looking for someone with programming experience within a venue as well as someone who has experience in creating and delivering talent development programmes. You will also be expected to oversee and explore the development of new strategic partnerships, as well as identify and map out income streams to support the delivery of our creative programmes and implementation of the new business model.

The assignment is expected to last around three to four months with a time requirement of around 3-4 days per week.

Musician / Composer with Caribbean heritage – Curiosity Productions, closes 18 Mar

Stefanie Reynolds is developing a new theatre adaptation of Jamaican fairy tales for young audiences, Sol vs Mancrow (working title). She’s looking for a musician/composer of Jamaican heritage to join her Research & Development period at Z Arts in Manchester, on Thursday 18th April 2024.

Job Description

Stefanie is a mixed-race, working class, neurodivergent, queer Mancunian playwright. She is open-minded about musical styles, but the successful applicant will need to take some inspiration from the music of Jamaica, whether through ska elements, traditional songs, or something else. This new play explores the experiences of working class children with shared Manchester / Jamaican heritage, and gender roles for children of the Jamaican diaspora. The R&D will invite 2 performers, a puppeteer and a director to explore Stef’s ideas. There is potential for those who work on the R&D to become part of the creative team as the project develops (although this is not guaranteed).

This R&D is supported by Curiosity Productions, Cloud Cuckoo Land Theatre and Z Arts.

Freelance Theatre Practitioner – Cotton Shed Theatre Company, closes 10 Mar

Theatre Practitioners work in collaboration on all aspects of Cotton Shed Theatre delivery, alongside organisation Horse + Bamboo, who act as a Management Company/Artistic Directors for Cotton Shed Theatre. Horse + Bamboo leads the company artistically, developing and implementing artistic policy and delivering its artistic vision, and are responsible to the Board of Trustees for the programme, policies and management of Cotton Shed.

CORE DUTIES

General

  • Lead on prep & delivery of Early Years’ sessions of 2 x weekly ‘Sign & Rhyme’

  • Feed into and support monitoring and evaluation of all projects and productions to ensure the highest standard of work.

General Manager – Everyone Here, closes 25 Mar

We are utilising a Citizens’ Jury – an effective, scaled-down version of a Citizens’ Assembly – to bring together a wide range of people from West Cumbria to make decisions on what creative projects should be produced with our funding. Citizens’ Juries and Assemblies have grown in popularity over recent years as they are considered a more democratic approach to decision making.

The General Manager will co-ordinate the Citizens’ Jury, operating as the first point of contact for Everyone Here and working closely with our partner, Citizens In Power, to support the smooth running of the jury.

In addition to jury co-ordination, the General Manager will manage the Administration, Finance, and Evaluation functions of the Everyone Here Programme. We are looking for someone who is eager to collaborate closely with the whole team, passionate about community-driven initiatives and possesses the skills to drive impactful projects.

This is a full-time position, working 35 hrs per week on a 1 year fixed term contract with the potential initial extension to March 2026.

Up to £30K dependent on experience. Matched employers allowance contribution of 7.55 pension. £800 pa travel allowance, plus business mileage.
