The Senior Technician – Sound will report to the Head of Lighting & Sound and Head of Stage, and to the Back of House Operations Manager where appropriate. You will be responsible for helping manage the casual staff within the technical department.

Film Programme Producer – HOME, closes 1 Mar

The Film Programme Producer will report to the Head of Film Strategy, and work closely with all members of the Film team and across the organisation to produce HOME’s film programme. The HOME Film programme includes a broad range of new releases and a curated, original programme of film seasons.

Management and process

Produce the film programme and one-off screenings, with duties including, but not limited to:

    • Scheduling screenings and completing the weekly holdover schedule.
    • Coordinating copy
    • Overseeing film on-sale information
    • Overseeing the certification of non-BBFC rated films with Manchester City Council.
    • Coordinating cinema screen swaps.
    • Logistical organisation and delivery of film events
    • Develop opportunities for traineeships and internships.

Programme

Secure film rights and prints for screenings, including negotiating costs and ensuring bookings are made and materials are delivered in a timely fashion. This covers booking titles for one-off screenings, curated seasons, special events, festivals, family programming, Creative Development bookings, and private hires.

Contribute to screening and event programming.

Work with internal teams for the development of film programmes.

Communicate programme information to internal teams and external stakeholders.

Maintain knowledge of contemporary film and film exhibition.

Finance and data

Keep accurate financial and statistical records for the organisation, including, but not limited to, admissions information and Film Pass data; and to provide analysis and updates of this information to internal teams and external stakeholders.

Process and approve invoices, purchase orders and finance information via the organisation’s finance system.

Work with the Finance team and Head of Film Strategy to set targets.

Contribute to project and venue funding applications, working collaboratively with the Head of Film Strategy and the Development Team to maximise opportunities for financial support for the Film programme.

The National Festival of Making is seeking to appoint a new team member to support the Finance & Operations Manager in bookkeeping and administration.

The finance and administrative role will see you supporting the small team in delivering our year-round programme and annual festival organisation. Based in our Blackburn office but with some opportunities to work from home, you will work closely alongside our festival producers, education and marketing teams in assisting the day-to-day running of our growing arts and culture organisation.

MAIN OBJECTIVES

  • To provide support to the directorate with administration as and when required
  • To provide finance support to the Finance and Operations Manager
  • To provide administrative support to the project team

KEY DUTIES

  • Responsible for managing Xero data entry
  • Responsible for collating and processing receipts and invoices utilising Xero document storage
  • Managing the customer and supplier data in Xero
  • Working with the Finance and Operations Manager to support the production of monthly customer and supplier Xero reports
  • Processing the monthly Xero bank account reconciliations
  • Processing the quarterly Xero VAT return working in conjunction with the Finance and Operations Manager
  • Following the internal approval processes for transactional coding and processing payments
  • Managing the expense and travel claims process for the Directors
  • Any other administrative duties to support the Directors
  • Support project managers with admin tasks including booking hotels, preparing contract templates and administering project files with information including insurance, health and safety information and evaluation forms

The key responsibilities of this role are:

  • Maintain and monitor the performance of the network and network services to identify problem areas, recommend, and implement improvements to ensure we provide a responsive, accessible, and reliable technical support service to all computer users and always ensure system security.
  • Identify and troubleshoot problems in all aspects of ICT systems including the network, communications, servers, end points, hardware, and software.
  • Plan the delivery, configuration and deployment of ICT Systems and replacement equipment.
  • Install, configure, and package software for deployment ensuring compatibility with existing hardware and software.
  • Support ICT related projects to support teaching, learning and business support needs including the development of technology led learner support.
  • Provide user support for staff and students ensuring that fault and request logs are attended to within agreed timescales.
  • Work with the ICT Manager to set, develop and generate yearly operational budgets.

The ideal candidate will have a degree or equivalent qualification in ICT or similar relevant subject, and Microsoft accreditation or equivalent. You should have experience of supporting wide area routed networks, server and desk top hardware and software configuration, Internet Information Server / PHP / My SQL / Apache, TCP/IP-based Ethernet network, DNS, WINS, DHCP, RADIUS, IPv4, IPv6 and Microsoft Office and MS Teams with Direct Routing administration. Experience within a similar role supporting end users, ideally in an educational setting would be advantageous.

You must be able to work autonomously using your own initiative and have good attention to detail. As you will be working with staff and students across the Institute you must be able to build good working relationships at all levels and demonstrate a proactive and flexible ‘can-do’ attitude.

Volunteer Coordinator & Administrative Assistant – Venture Arts, closes 26 Feb

Venture Arts is an award-winning visual arts organisation working with learning disabled artists. Through our studio programmes, exhibitions and collaborative projects, we remove barriers to the arts, we put artists in the lead, we champion neurodiversity and provide pathways for every individual to develop their creative identity.

Venture Arts equips people to succeed as artists, advocates, cultural workers, educators, curators and critics.

Volunteers and placements are an integral part of our organisation, supporting individuals to achieve great things and bringing valuable support, skills and diverse voices into our vibrant arts studio. Around 60 volunteers are involved every year, and we are looking for a bright, enthusiastic self-starter who loves working with people of all ages and walks of life to help us in supporting them. Ideally you will have a passion for the arts, and experience of coordinating people and developing skills.

Part of this role will involve working on our reception desk one day a week to welcome artists and visitors, undertake administrative tasks and support some of our marketing admin.
