Stage Manager – Ambassador Theatre Group Ltd, closes 5 Nov

You will be part of the senior technical team liaising with visiting productions regarding their staffing and any requirements during their stay.

Under the Technical Manager you will lead on the maintenance of the venue’s stage machinery, flying system and any equipment within the department, you will assist the full time team in managing a pool of casual technicians and support the Technical Manager in maintaining a positive safety culture. As well as technical ability you’ll need great people skills and the ability to motivate and manage a team.

Senior Technician (Lighting) – Storyhouse, closes 22 Oct

As one of three Senior Technicians, you will work hands-on across all areas of our programme, specialising in lighting.

You will work with the Technical Stage Manager to successfully realise both home-produced and touring programmes. You will have significant experience within this field and will be responsible for leading other technicians, full time and freelance, in providing support to the theatres, cinema, library, and the organisation’s wider programme both in and out of our building.

Our Senior Technician (Lighting) will work across all our performance spaces, including Storyhouse’s main theatre and Garret theatre within the building, Grosvenor Park Open Air Theatre, Moonlight Flicks, and touring productions. You will look after and maintain equipment and teams across all work and spaces.

Box Office Supervisor – Macbeth, Liverpool / Underbelly, closes 6 Nov

Underbelly are looking for Box Office Supervisors to run the onsite box office at Macbeth The Show during its run at The Depot, Liverpool in November and December 2023.

Job Description

  • This position requires you to work individually running the onsite box office with remote support from Underbelly’s Head of Ticketing.
  • Regular duties include selling tickets, processing agency tickets, processing complimentary tickets, ticket collection and distribution and updating front of house with numbers and access information.
  • Assisting with first line troubleshooting of box office equipment, including PCs, ticket printers, card machines, phones, and networking.
  • Liaise with a wide variety of producers and promoters as well as ticket agencies to ensure all sales requirements are carried out efficiently and provide accurate sales report information on request on a regular basis.
  • Respond to customer feedback and complaints face to face and authorise refunds, ticket exchanges and the issuing of complimentary tickets where appropriate.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues from across all departments, in particular the Front of House and Production team, to deliver a seamless and positive service experience for all customers.
  • Provide an excellent experience for customers in respect of ticket sales, accessibility and other services offered by the ticketing team.
  • Managing the administration of cancelled shows or other interruptions to Underbelly’s ticketed activities.

Role:

The Communications Coordinator will be responsible for creating content and managing the company’s social media accounts, creating and circulating Mailchimp newsletters, updating the website and ensuring consistent and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Fee:

£120 (for 8 hours per week)

Technical Officer – Manchester Metropolitan University, closes 18 Oct

This exciting role sits within the Creative Practice and Galleries team, who provide specialist technical support and training to the Faculty of Art and Humanities.

The team utilise their extensive experience and knowledge in a range of art practices to work closely to support academics, students, and professional artists in their creative and studio practice. You will play a key role in supporting the team to deliver excellence in service and the creative ambitions of the faculty of Arts and Humanities.

About you:

The post holder will bring a dynamic and flexible approach to delivering specialist technical support to our Fine Art students, whilst assisting the team with our ambitious Gallery and Studio Schedule.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Excellent communication skills to deliver engaging workshop demonstrations to students.
  • Demonstration skills in stretcher making, surface preparation and Fine Art painting.

Award-winning company Streetwise Opera seeks a skilled and passionate support worker in Manchester, with an interest in the arts and experience of working with people affected by homelessness or in the social sector.

We are looking for an individual with demonstrable experience of supporting adults at risk in homelessness settings or equivalent frontline settings.

The role involves supporting a weekly 2-hour session per month, in addition to up to 2 hours a week to cover set up/pack down of sessions and pick up on any urgent pastoral care between sessions.

Contract / Salary: Freelance. £22.50 per hour. 2-hour session each week (£45) plus up to an extra 2 hours a week of set up, administration or support during term time (£45). Additional hours may be offered for Streetwise Plus trips (cultural / theatre visits).

Location: Weekly Streetwise Sessions take place at Whitworth Art Gallery. Streetwise Plus trips will take place across a variety of cultural venues in Manchester.
