Rob Heron & The Tea Pad Orchestra

Rob Heron & The Tea Pad Orchestra have been gleefully trampling over genre boundaries for over a decade now, chucking rockabilly, blues, country, swing, soul and more into their musical gumbo, but always sounding mostly just like themselves.

Based in Newcastle but hailing from across the UK, the Tea Pad have released five albums, and toured widely across the British Isles and Europe, playing everywhere from Glastonbury and Cambridge Folk Festival to village halls and barns, and all points in between.

Well-known for their energetic live shows, and dry humour, they’ve toured with some of the big-name Americana outfits such as Pokey LaFarge, The Dead South, and Sierra Ferrell. They have released music on Sleazy Records (Spain) and Migraine Records (Germany), appeared multiple times on Radio 4’s Loose Ends, and had their music played by everyone from Marc Riley to Huey Morgan.

Joining Rob Heron (vocals/guitar) are Tom Cronin (mandolin/harmonica/guitar), Ben Powling (saxophone/clarinet), Ted Harbot (double bass/electric bass) and Paul Archibald (drums).

Peter’s Field

Peter’s Field is an epic musical chronicle that tells the story of one of the most important days in working class history.

On 16 August 1819, 60,000 people gathered in the centre of Manchester. Many had walked miles to be there from all across Lancashire. They went to hear the famous radical speaker Henry ‘Orator’ Hunt who called for working people to have the vote. They were unarmed and peaceful. Local magistrates sent in the yeomanry cavalry and 15th Hussars to disperse the crowd and arrest Hunt. At least 18 people were killed and hundreds injured in the murderous scenes that followed. Women were deliberately targeted. It became known as the Peterloo Massacre.

The magistrates and military were completely exonerated, and it would be 100 years until working people had the vote.

Peter’s Field is born from years of research and comprises 19 original songs written by Sean Cooney, performed with Rowan Rheingans and Sam Carter, alongside a compelling spoken narrative derived from hundreds of eyewitness accounts.

Conscious Pilot

Hailing from Glasgow, Conscious Pilot come to Future Yard on their debut album tour. Founded by Joe Laycock and Jack Sharp as a successor to theatrical punk group Cheap Teeth, the pair birthed the project from their joint love of immersive, beat-driven soundscapes and an exploration of subtle shifts.

They are joined by members of Catholic Action and Big Girls Blouse: Emmy Leishman and Chris McCroy. While the band’s identity is a culmination of the differences between each member, they are all bonded by a love of fast, immersive beats and flowing melodies.

The band has since been particularly active in the UK’s live music scene, having completed several tours in UK and making their first foray across Europe in 2025, culminating in two highly coveted performances at Hamburg’s Reeperbahn Festival. After releasing two EPs via Devil Duck Records, “Epoxy Plains” and “Wipe Clean”, the band are releasing their debut LP ‘Human Poultry’ on 8th May 2026.
