Future Proof with Insecure Men

Our IVW 2026 All Dayer arrives on Saturday 31st January 2026 and we’re thrilled to announce this year’s headliner is Insecure Men!

We’re also inviting along Langkamer for the party, as well as local favs Workstuff, with plenty more TBA in due course…

Fresh from the release of their latest record, ‘A Man For All Seasons’, this long-awaited return comes off the back of a period that Saul Adamczewski spent fixing fractured relationships with the mother of his infant daughter, his family, friends, and Fat White Family (the band he co-founded in 2011).

Insecure Men began in 2015, a repository for Adamczewski’s more reflective and melodic material that was naturally completely unsuitable for Fat White Family, and to make use of an in-joke that FWF should really be called “Insecure Men Who Look At Their Phones Too Much.”

Their self-titled debut album was released in 2018. Adamczewski was out of Fat White Family, out of rehab, and turned in a melodically rich and sonically inventive album that surprised critics with its confident and focused songwriting (even if that songwriting was about Operation Yewtree, Cliff Richard and the death of Whitney Houston.)

Praised by The Guardian as a redemptive breakthrough, it was a Top 5 Album of the Year for The Quietus. But where that album used a woozy stew of lounge, exotica and off-kilter pop music as a base from which to examine the true-life horrors of fame, substance abuse and imperialism, ‘A Man For All Seasons’ fixes its gaze on something no less shocking or ugly: the end of a relationship.

The Pill

In a world still shaken by online misogyny and narrow ideas of femininity, The Pill are the defiant, irreverent voice Gen Z punk has been waiting for. Formed by Lily Hutchings (vocals/guitar) and Lottie Massey (vocals/bass), the Isle of Wight duo have spent the past few years honing their riotous blend of satire, sarcasm, and spitfire punk into something entirely their own.

Now, they’re ready to unleash it with the release of their self-titled debut EP, a sold-out UK headline tour, and a run of shows with Green Day, The Hives, Panic Shack, HotWax, plus appearances at over 30 UK and European festivals throughout 2025 – and now, a show at Future Yard for Independent Venue Week 2026 on Tuesday 27th January.

Mersey Dub Club in association with Future Yard brings you a night of soundsystem culture with two sound systems in one room selecting nothing but good, good vibes.

The Visitors: Equity Hi-Fi is a traditional, hand-built soundsystem from the fells of North Wales. Born from a shared love of music, dancing, and soundsystem culture. Organising gatherings across North Wales and Merseyside for the past two years. Their sessions celebrate diverse musical culture through selections, live elements and collaborations, whilst always staying true to the roots and drawing from their extensive vinyl collections. The message is clear in every tune and dubplate: progression, peace, love, unity and above all, Equity.

The Home Grown: Sugar Shack Sound System, established in 1993 from the Riddim Boat Productions Youth Collective on Wirral Merseyside, built its roots and foundations in the Blues/House party scene of the nineties. With the rise of their sound this transformed into there regular monthly nights at such venues as Bourbon Street/JAKs/ Zanzibar, HeeBieJeeBees, BaaBar, theLomax as well as home grown sessions at the Victoria Ballroom and the Sailing Club in New Brighton. 1999 saw the sound reduce and store as life got more 9-to-5 for its members, but fast forward to the present day and the sound is once again fully functional with our original Larry dub scoops, traditional hand-built pre-amp and effects. We play a selection from early rocksteady to roots rock reggae to heavy dub and steppa’s via our collective of selectas via digital and vinyl formats.

Mersey Dub Club est. June 2025 is our new gathering which will hopefully grow as we follow the river energy and collaborate with the reggae foundations and new youth sound we find on its banks within our community.

MANCHESTER COLLECTIVE: SKY WITH THE FOUR SUNS

Manchester Collective Presents Sky with the Four Suns live at Future Yard on Saturday 7th February 2026.

Enter a realm flooded with light and sound.

The Alaskan wilderness and the Arctic sky is where night and day steadily unfold with a special kind of magic. These horizons stretch far and wide across the nature-infused music of John Luther Adams. His ‘Canticles of the Sky’ for string quartet is stark, bright and expansive. It takes inspiration from sunbeams that hit ice crystals and refract, forming vivid halos and sundogs. To hear it live is to feel the steady, creeping warmth of a frosty day…

On our way to these distant soundscapes, we bask in the radiant purity of Arvo Pärt’s ‘Summa’ and briefly leave Earth behind for alien terrains. Experimental British musician and composer Mica Levi is best known for their scores for films like Under the Skin and The Zone of Interest.

In a new commission for the Collective, Jasmine Morris manipulates time with her slow-crawling textures and otherworldly sounds.

Join us and ascend to the highest heights.
