Omega Nebula

Electronic future-dub duo Omega Nebula take on Future Yard as part of their UK Tour. Omega Nebula are a force – their music takes the most powerful elements of dub reggae and dubstep and rolls them into uplifting, emotionally weighted anthems with a unique sonic identity. Taking influence from the UK sound system scene, dub clubs and bass driven subcultures, their huge sound is heart shaking, their message profound, and their energy invigorating.

Multi-instrumentalist husband and wife duo Adjua and Dean Forrest, who together fronted eight piece reggae outfit Backbeat Soundsystem on Easy Star Records, have joined forces to pursue their obsession with heavyweight bass lines and slick digital dub production. Combining their prolific prowess as masterful songwriters with their rich performance background, these two powerhouses supply an epic live/electronic hybrid show, steeped in euphoric effects, live instrumentation, and killer vocals. Producer/Vocalist Adjua’s flawless destruction of the fourth wall leaves audience engagement somewhere akin to a rally cry for ravers to rise up and take control, all the while retaining an intimate, personal touch.

Omega Nebula are fresh, exciting and their momentum is unwavering. With world class music that encompasses messages of unity, love, peace and progression, this dynamic duo absolutely cannot fail to win the hearts and minds of the new dub generation and oldschool dub reggae veterans alike.

Sheelanagig

Sheelanagig are coming to Future Yard on Friday 4th December for a super special show in the North West

Support from Triquetra featuring The Skylarks, The Tree Gnomes, and Answers On A Postcard.

Sheelanagig have been whipping up a storm of foot-stomping, roof-raising, high-energy live folk for nigh on twenty years. With an arsenal of strings, soaring flute, pounding drums and a sprinkle of fairy dust they spin melodies that have set feet flying all across the globe. Their shows are a heady mix of raucous dance medleys and thoughtfully crafted original pieces feverishly brimming with fire, flair and finesse. Floors tremble and windows rattle in their presence; these rapturous minstrels are not to be missed under any circumstance.

Drawing deep from a bountiful well of European folk traditions, from medieval melodies to modern grooves, from baroque to folk-rock, Sheelanagig’s irresistible alchemy makes it impossible to stand still. Their infectious energy and mischievous stagecraft are matched only by their impeccable musicianship—delighting festival crowds and intimate venues alike.

Now, in 2026, they mark twenty years of tuneful trickery with the release of St Congar’s Walking Stick—heralding a new dawn for Sheelanagig. In this thrilling new chapter, the band have embraced folk-rock flavours, break-neck bangers, thoughtful takes on the traditional and a raucous array of original material which blends seamlessly with their time-honoured, inimitable style. Produced by their guitarist Alex Garden (The Drystones, Tarren) this album ventures boldly into new realms whilst remaining faithful to it’s heritage. One feels the clout of twenty years’ experience, bolstered and ignited by the drive of a daring new frontier in UK folk.

YELLOWMAN

We team up with Events 471 to present Yelllowman live at Future Yard on Monday 6th July 2026.
Jamaica’s first dancehall superstar, Yellowman ushered in a new era in reggae music following Bob Marley’s death. His early-’80s success brought the popularity of toasting — the reggae equivalent of rapping — to a whole new level, and helped establish dancehall as the wave of the future. For better or for worse, he also epitomized dancehall’s penchant for “slack” lyrics. Graphic sexuality was his particular forte, reaching levels of explicitness previously unheard in Jamaica. There was more to it than that, though; Yellowman was one of the most verbally nimble toasters of his time, with a loose, easy flow, a talent for improvisation, and a definite wit in his wordplay. Plus, all the boasting about his prowess on the mic or in the bedroom had to be over the top to be convincing: true to his stage name, Yellowman is an albino, which carries a tremendous social stigma in Jamaica. His rise to stardom was unlikely enough, but his transformation from untouchable outcast into sex symbol was staggering — and may not even have taken place without his trademark lewdness. Shocking though it could be, it affirmed him as a sexual being just like his listeners, and was delivered with enough humour to let the audience know that he didn’t take himself too seriously.

Bouts with cancer pushed him into more thoughtful, socially conscious territory in the 1990s, but his initial style remains the most influential, paving the way for countless dancehall toasters to follow. He remained quiet through most of the 2000s before mounting a comeback with 2019’s No More War.

Skorts

NYC’s up and comers SKORTS come to Birkenhead. Described as psych-glam, post-alt and dark wave disco, SKORTS are taking stages by storm.

Since forming less than 2 years ago SKORTS went from conception to one of the most talked about and in demand local bands in New York. At SKORTS’ first show, an amp exploded — call it a freak accident or a catalyzing prophecy – either way, from there was born a band that refused to arrive quietly.

We are made up to have them down on Argyle Street as part of their EU tour, straight off the back of their debut album Incompletement. Described as pure passion pressed into permanence – polished, stadium-ready rock with a DIY edge.

SKORTS are on the kind of trajectory that won’t keep them small for long, catch them before they blow up.

The Dose Presents: A Celebration of Ian Curtis

In June 2026, Ian Curtis would have turned 70. To mark the occasion, The Dose curate a powerful night of music and memory, honouring one of the most singular voices in post-punk history.

At the heart of the evening is Joy Division’s Unknown Pleasures, performed in full. An album that reshaped the sound and emotional language of the late 70s, Unknown Pleasures remains stark, restless, and timeless. For The Dose, it’s a record that carries deep artistic significance, making this celebration both personal and reverent, not nostalgia, but communion.

Fresh from one of our favourite shows of 2025 alongside Gang of Three, The Dose return with a performance that promises intensity, precision, and feeling in equal measure. This is not a tribute that fades into the background. It’s one that hums, pulses, and lingers.

Support comes from two acts perfectly attuned to the evening’s atmosphere:

Liminal Project
Darkwave that thrives on contrast. Intensity meets stillness, rhythm dissolves into atmosphere. Their songs feel like soundtracks to forgotten futures and half-remembered dreams, romantic, physical, and suspended in a beautiful tension between movement and melancholy.

Macks Nyahoe & The New Big Express
Industrial post-punk with teeth. Frontman Macks Nyahoe leads this Liverpool-based dance-punk unit with synths, vocals, and triggers, backed by guitar, bass, and a percussion setup built from toms, kick, and raw sheet metal. The result is relentless, hypnotic, and fiercely danceable, groove locked tight with aggression and pulse.

A night to celebrate legacy, influence, and the echo that still reverberates through modern music. Get your tickets now.

EarthSonic: Dan Peter Parker (Fingathing) + Natural Symphony

EarthSonic presents EarthSonic Local 01, showcasing artists who illustrate the profound connections between music and the natural environment.

Dan Peter Parker (Dan Baxter) is a session musician, composer, scratch DJ, workshop tutor, and member of the Manchester-based band Fingathing. After placing 3rd in the 1997 UK DMC Mixing Championships, Dan – also known as Peter Parker – was invited to join Grand Central Records, becoming a touring member of Rae & Christian before forming Fingathing with illustrator Chris Drury and double-bass maestro Sneaky. The trio quickly became one of the most original and distinctive acts on the scene, releasing three critically acclaimed LPs and building a devoted global following through relentless touring and unforgettable live shows. Fingathing later signed to Ninja Tune, dropping additional releases including their cult cover of Apache. After a brief hiatus in 2007/08 to explore individual creative projects, the group reunited, returning to the stage with new music and artwork. Their comeback EP, Return of the Thing, arrived in 2013 via Kudos Records, who continue to distribute their catalogue.

Beyond Fingathing, Dan collaborated with blues/folk artist Jesca Hoop as part of her live band, performing MPC drums and co-creating a cover of “I Feel Love,” released on Tru Thoughts Records. Dan and Sneaky also developed the club-focused “Fingathing BareBones Soundsystem,” blending live double bass with turntable-driven DJ energy built for the dancefloor. Most recently, Dan has expanded into composition alongside Sneaky, writing for Audio Network.

Natural Symphony is a live techno AV artist and immersive installation designer known for pioneering bio-interactive performances where nature itself composes the experience. By translating the living frequencies of plants and trees, cosmic phenomena (including the northern lights and stars), and interplanetary signals into sound and light, he creates living artworks that evolve moment by moment. Presented worldwide from festivals to city centers, his work bridges art, science, and ecology, supporting reforestation efforts with Yakum and his own Amazon-based initiative Seeds only Sound, which nurtures Indigenous creativity, cultural preservation, and environmental protection.

Local musicians who took part in the recent EarthSonic Local programme – a music and climate activism programme – will also perform tracks – TBA.

This event is part of EarthSonic – a global project telling the story of climate change through music, working with indigenous communities, musicians, cultural organisers, scientists and climate activists and experts. The project aims to distil big complicated data and reach young people’s hearts and minds, inspiring a clear call to action and unifying a movement to tackle climate change.
