Reel Tours Virtual Film Quiz

Reel Tours Live Streamed Film Quiz returns on the Reel Tours YouTube Channel on Wednesday, 21st April.

There shall be no talk of the virus that will not be named. Spirits will be uplifted, vibes will be high, film trivia shall be shared. Combat your Isolation boredom by getting together (at a safe distance of course) with any friends and family, or even by yourself, and taking part. Storyhouse are working with Independent UK film distribution companies to enable audiences to watch new films online at home as well as in our cinema.

Film & Food Fest

This socially spacious festival will be the first event of its kind, featuring four days of outdoor cinema with classic movies and recent releases, stand up comedy from some of the UK’s best-loved comedians, and specially-curated short films from regional filmmakers.

There will also be mouthwatering street food from local traders, curated by Street Food Warehouse. Expect everything from gourmet burgers and bruschetta, to crepes and caramel ice-cream, along with dedicated bars, serving great beers and bespoke cocktails.

Thursday evening of Film & Food Fest will feature a special showcase of short movies from some of the finest independent regional filmmakers. The night will highlight the work of local creatives, giving their films a major platform, and giving audiences an exclusive chance to see some fantastic new cinema.

£2 from every ticket sold will be used to support local film organisations within Liverpool.

Outdoor Cinema at The Bombed Out Churc...

The stars of Hollywood under the stars of Liverpool. 

The Independent Liverpool cinema shows have been in some iconic venues over the years and this summer they will be popping-up at Liverpool’s iconic Bombed Out Church, with two screenings a day, for two weeks.

From 16th-29th August get ready for some classic cinema at one of Liverpool’s most beloved venues. 90’s classics, rom-coms and pure nostalgia – they’ve got two screenings of 14 different films to choose from!  

Accompanying the film will be Bombed Out Church’s wonderful gin bar. It’ll also be stocked with lots of beers, spirits, Prosecco and more. They will be getting a special food trader and dessert trader for the two weeks! They will make sure there are vegan and veggie options too so come hungry. There will also be a special desserts trader!

They will be doing a daily sun dance but films will go ahead in any weather! If it’s scheduled to rain or be cold please dress accordingly. They will be on hand with ponchos. Failing that, a double gin will do the trick.  

Screenings are 5-7pm and 8-10pm from 16th-29th August. Films start at 5pm and 8pm each night. Please arrive in time to get a seat and a drink for the start of the film. All screenings are 18+. Tickets are £12pp. There is wheelchair access.

The Independent Liverpool team will be monitoring any updates on covid rules and regulations but due to the screenings being outside, they’re extremely confident this event will be able to go ahead regardless of any changes.

All tickets are general admission, so you are able to sit where you want to.

Liverpool Together

‘Liverpool Together’ – on the anniversary of the first lockdown, a special broadcast from BBC Radio Merseyside in partnership with Liverpool City Council.

Filmed by Owen Cottrell, the programme features Claire Sweeney making a special reading of Pauline McAdam’s poem ‘Again’. The Liverpool Together programme commemorates a year since the first national lockdown.
