Red Sky July UK Tour 2025

Red Sky July are husband and wife duo Ally Mcerlaine (Texas) and Shelly Poole (Alisha’s Attic) along with esteemed vocalist Haley Glennie – Smith.

The band’s sound is a blend of Alt – Folk, Country and Americana which has seen them gain considerable airplay, including being play listed on BBC Radio 2.

The band, who’s achievements were recognised at the Scottish Music Awards where they were presented with a prestigious Tartan Clef A ward ,have toured extensively as well as appearing as special guests of the likes of Sheryl Crow, Steve Earle, 10CC, Tom Jones, Jools Holland and more.

They have performed at some of the UK’s most renowned festivals including Glastonbury, Isle of Wight, T in the Park and C2C: Country to Country.

Their self-titled debut album was released to huge critical acclaim with Q magazine describing the album as “a timeless blend of vocals & intricate twang… as atmospheric as it is emotional”.

The follow up album ‘Shadowbirds’ debuted at No. 3 in the official UK Country Charts, with Maverick magazine describing it as “a beautiful slice of alt – country showcasing sunny songs and gorgeous harmonies”.

Red Sky July’s third album ‘The Truth and The Lie’ saw them hook up with Grammy nominated Nashville based singer songwriter Beth Nielsen Chapman.

Again, the album went Top 3 in the Official UK Country Charts, with the Guardian newspaper describing it as “a modern country
masterpiece”.

2024 has seen the band put the finishing touches to their brand-new album entitled ‘Misty Morning’ which is scheduled for release on 28th February 2025.

Alain Johannes & Earl Of Hell return to the UK in May 2025, performing at Future Yard on Friday 16th May.

His last trip over the pond in 2024 was such a success that he’s back again just a year later, once again be joined by Edinburgh based fuzz rockers and adopted nephews Earl Of Hell as his backing band and tour support, they’ll also be hot off the heels of the release of their debut album, co-produced by none other than Uncle Alain.

With a musical career spanning decades, the list of musicians that Alain Johannes has worked with reads like an encyclopaedia of California rock history. In high school he was in bands with the likes of Flea and Anthony Kiedis, later Alain forming Eleven with Natasha Shneider and Jack Irons, going on to tour with Pearl Jam and Soundgarden, and for several years recorded and toured with Queens of the Stone Age.

As a writer, touring musician, producer and engineer, Alain has worked with Chris Cornell, Them Crooked Vultures, PJ harvey, Sound City Players, No Doubt, Mark Lanegan, Jimmy Eat World, Queens of the Stone Age, Brody Dalle and Arctic Monkeys.

A poet, performer, artist and comedian, Mik spouts lyrics, creates chaos, plays air-crook lock(!), and all-out entertains over the top of an exquisite layer of rock, soul, funk, and punk created by partner in crime Jonny Flockton on guitar. Delightful, frightening, strange and hysterically funny, Mik throws shapes and straws, and croons like a dream – sometimes.

Expect to be delighted and unnerved in equal measure as we present one of the most interesting, unpredictable, and exciting acts you’re likely to see this side of the Mersey.

Cerys Hafana

Future Yard are thrilled to present harpist Cerys Hafana in Birkenhead on Wednesday 7th May 2025.

A composer and multi-instrumentalist who mangles, mutates, and transforms traditional music, Cerys explores the creative possibilities and unique qualities of the triple harp, and is also interested in found sounds, archival materials and electronic processing. She comes from Machynlleth, Wales, where rivers and roads meet on the way to the sea.

Cerys has won over audiences from Green Man to the Eisteddfod and from BBC 6 Music Festival to Celtic Connections with her magical, progressive sound.

Joshua Burnside

An experimental folk songwriter, singer and producer, Joshua takes influence from alternative electronica and Irish folk, chopping and blending them with a mixture of found sounds, world music and unorthodox production methods.

His third album, ‘Teeth Of Time’ (out 17.01.25), sits comfortably and confrontationally between the alt-folk realms of Bon Iver and Sufjan Stevens while retaining the indie singer-songwriter and traditional folk elements of Josh’s signature songwriting.
