The Healing Day is a seasonal event that has been celebrating creativity, health and well-being in the community for 21 years !

The event includes a wide choice of therapies, workshops, and stalls selling hand made and environmentally friendly products and gifts with live music, veggie cafe and good company

Filla Cracks Halloween Drag Cabaret

“Hallo-Queen! This Hallows Eve, Liverpool drag legend, Filla Crack, has brought together some of Liverpool’s best drag and cabaret performers.

Join them for a night of chaos, camp foolery, ghoulish looks and all-round buffoonery. Tik Tok sensation Bailey J Mills will be flying into Liverpool on their witch’s broom-stick to join a line up of stars, here to show you life doesn’t have to be such a drag, alongside Married At First Sights Thomas Hartley, AKA Pam Sandwich, Liverpool’s arthouse witch Dross, and rapping sensation Joy France.

Dress up is highly encouraged!

Ticket includes a welcome drink and meal consisting of 3 slices of pizza, please choose on the “add ons” section – 1 food order per ticket booked.

Meet recruiters from National Museums Liverpool, The Women’s Organisation, Agent Academy, the Bluecoat, The Department for Work and Pensions, Everton F.C., Liverpool F.C., Liverpool Philharmonic and more.

Advisors from Back on Track Education will also be on hand to help with CVs and how to fill in an application form.

Reflective Return – Liverpool Bi...

Join Bluecoat for a night of sound and sonic reflection, where they look back at the journey of Liverpool Biennial 2023, ‘uMoya’: The Sacred Return of Lost Things, through film, live happenings, music and food. ⁠

Facilitated and hosted by Kolade from Noire Gayze, the evening will begin with a screening of Neptune Frost (2021, Anisia Uzeyman & Saul Williams), followed by intimate drum percussion from Irvin Pascal and performances by local artists.⁠

Complimentary food will be served and drinks will be available throughout.

Delivered in collaboration with Liverpool Biennial and the Bluecoat, produced with support from Homotopia. With thanks to our host, Kolade T Ladipo, Founder of Noire Gayze.⁠

Open Studios – Heritage Open Day...

The work of some of Bluecoat’s studio artists will also be ‘unwrapped’ during Heritage Open Days, as they open their doors to the public. This will be a great opportunity to meet some of their creative community and find out about their practices, which range from painting and photography to jewellery and illustration.

Print Studio Tour – Heritage Ope...

As part of the Heritage Festival the Bluecoat’s Intaglio studio will be open for a tour and mini etching workshop. Discover their open-access printmaking studio and learn how to ink and print etching plates on our 100 year old etching press.

Tours and etching demonstrations will run on the hour at 12pm, 1pm, and 2pm

Tour spaces are free but must be booked in advance.

The tour starts at their information desk and lasts 60 minutes.

Building Tours with Bryan Biggs: Herit...

Join Director of Cultural Legacies Bryan Biggs, on a tour that offers insight into how the Bluecoat was transformed from a charity school to the first arts centre in the UK.

Explore their building, with over 300 years of interesting history, that has hosted a wide range of visitors and exhibitors such as Picasso, Matisse and Stravinsky, through to contemporary artists like Sonia Boyce, Jeremy Deller and John Akomfrah.

This years Heritage Open Day theme is ‘Creativity Unwrapped’. Their tours will unwrap the heritage of the Bluecoat, demonstrating that creativity has always been at the heart of what they do.

Join artists from Blue Room, Bluecoat’s inclusive arts project supporting learning disabled and neuro-divergent artists, on an immersive tour of our exhibition uMoya: The Sacred Return of Lost Things.

Since 2008, Blue Room artists have experienced Liverpool Biennial at Bluecoat and beyond, often creating their own works in response to the themes explored.

In this explorative tour, Blue Room artists will lead an interactive gallery tour sharing their perspective on the exhibited works. Afterwards, visitors are invited to join the artists as they share creative responses made in our supported studio at Bluecoat.

Liverpool Music Icons Tours

The Liverpool Music Icons Tours is a brand new and unique experience that offers fans a chance to immerse themselves into the music scene from the 1980s / 1990s with someone who was at the beating heart of it. The experience will be led by one of the following music icons:

  • Pete Hooton – lead singer of The Farm
  • Keith Mullin – lead guitarist of The Farm
  • Brian ‘Nasher’ Nash – lead guitarist with Frankie Goes to Hollywood

One of these artists will lead your tour and give you their own personal curated story as they take you around central Liverpool.

Discover little-known places not normally visited on the tourist trail and hear stories not available anywhere else.

Starting at LIPA (Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts) your music icon will lead your group on a personal 2-hour walk around Liverpool giving you not only his own personal story and rise to stardom but also sharing many anecdotes about what really happened during that vibrant period of music history.

You will see gig venues, recording studios, pubs, hangouts, and more on this easy slow-paced walk. Limited to a max of 12 people you will have the full attention of your music icon and get a fascinating insight into the world he experienced over several decades.

You will also get to see the biggest studio complex outside London and the first UK Superclub that changed the face of dance music in the UK. You’ll also see the location of Probe Records home of the second wave of Liverpool groups in the 1970s/1980s and take a visit to the Ministry Rehearsal Rooms where Echo and The Bunnymen, Teardrop Explodes, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, The Farm, Wah Heat, Black, Flock of Seagulls. The Pale Fountains played.

The tour will conclude with a personal chat with your musical icons over a complimentary drink at an iconic pub in central Liverpool. Here you will have a chance to relax, ask questions, get pictures or memorabilia signed, and take selfies before taking the groovy train home.

Baltic Swap Shop

The Baltic Swap Shop is a community-based sustainable fashion exchange event that aims to promote eco-friendly practices, reduce textile waste, and foster a sense of community engagement.

Participants are encouraged to bring their gently used clothing items to swap with others, promoting a circular economy and reducing the environmental impact of the fashion industry.

Swap Guidelines:

Items donated to the swap shop will be exchanged for one token per item. Each token can be exchanged for one other piece of clothing.

They will accept the following clothing items for swapping:

T-Shirts, Shirts, Dresses, Skirts, Jumpers, Jackets, Coats

They will not accept:

Shoes, Underwear, Hats, Socks, Accessories, Stained or Torn Items

Event Highlights:

1. Clothing Swap: Participants can bring their pre-loved clothing items in good condition and exchange them for tokens (One Token per Item). Each token allows them to choose another item of their liking from the available collection.

2. Sustainable Fashion Tips: Throughout the event, experts and volunteers will be available to share sustainable fashion tips and ideas for reducing waste in everyday fashion choices. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about eco-friendly materials, ethical brands, and how to create a versatile and eco-conscious wardrobe.

3. Volunteer Opportunities: The Baltic Swap Shop relies on dedicated volunteers to make the event a success. Attendees interested in contributing their time and skills to future events will have the opportunity to sign up as volunteers and play an essential role in promoting sustainability in the community.
