Collage Your Christmas Cards

Join Bluecoat for a festive and creative session where you can personalise your own sustainable Christmas cards through collage, a fun and eco-friendly way to spread the Christmas spirit. This hands-on workshop is perfect for those who want to add a personal touch to their greeting cards. No prior experience is necessary, come solo or with friends.

Spaces are limited, so don’t miss out on the opportunity to craft unique and heartfelt Christmas cards for your nearest and dearest.

Materials will be provided; however, they encourage everyone to bring their old Christmas cards and gift bags etc., which can be recycled and given a new life.

Bluecoat is closed to the public from 5pm. Please ring the doorbell on the right-hand side of the main entrance, and a member of staff will welcome you in.

Festive Wreath Workshop

Get into the festive spirit by learning how to create your very own seasonal wreath using fresh foliage and decorations.

You’ll be guided by artist and professional upcycler Gemma Longworth, who will lead you through the process step by step, ensuring you go home with a beautiful wreath, ready to adorn your home.

Come alone or with friends for an afternoon of merriment and creativity—this workshop is perfect for both beginners and seasoned crafters. Book now to reserve your spot!

Halloween Print Party

Get ready for a spooky Halloween half term and join Bluecoat in screen printing your own cotton trick or treat bags.

Participants will be able to choose from a variety of fun spooky trick or treat designs. Children will be able to pull the screens themselves with a facilitator supervising if they choose to, or a parent/guardian can help. There will be ample time during the session for everyone to print their bags and get creative, further personalising them with provided fabric markers if they wish too.

All children must be supervised by an adult. Each ticket admits one supervising adult and one child to participate. If the supervising adult would like to take part in the activity also, please purchase a materials bundle add-on ticket.

The Windows Project Writing Advice Desk service is returning to the Liverpool Central Library to offer help for any and all writers!

The Advice Desk will be conducted on the FIRST WEDNESDAY of every month

October’s writing advice desk will be run by Dave Ward and Alison Down from The Windows Project

Young People’s Print Club

Learn all about screen printing with stencils and create a zine or poster to take away with you.

Learn all about printmaking, develop your creative skills and make new friends at this FREE Young People’s Print Club!

Join them at the Bluecoat this Autumn and Winter to learn new skills and make new friends at our Print Club Sessions. Each session lasts 90 minutes and focuses on a different form of printmaking, acting as an introduction to printmaking and helping you gain new creative skills!

Their Print Club sessions are free and include all materials. You are welcome to book onto one or all of the sessions.

Glorified: Ghost Painting Workshop

Welcome to the Glorified/Gore-ified: Ghost Painting Workshop! Get ready to unleash your inner artist as they dive into the world of ghostly creations. Join them on Sunday 6th October 2024 at 13:00 at Future Yard CIC for an afternoon of spooky fun.

No experience necessary – just bring your creativity and a willingness to try something new. Paint some ghosts together and make some hauntingly beautiful art!

Get involved by incorporating your own adorable yet undead companions into mundane thrifted paintings. It’s both eerie and eco-friendly! Spooky and Sustainable!

This social/workshop is open to all ages but tickets MUST be booked in advance.
Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Paintings, brushes, paints etc are all provided but if you have your own feel free to bring them along!

The Secrets of Sudley House

Take the opportunity to discover some of the secrets of Sudley House. Join our Participation Team for a family-friendly look around this wonderful historic home, as together they uncover some of the secrets of the house and of George Holt and his family.

Each Secrets of Sudley House session has a limited number of tickets available. £5.00 per adult and £2.00 per child aged 6 years to 17 years old.

Having a laugh with the Comedy Trust &...

Are you 16-24, know you need to build useful skills but not sure what you want to do next? Don’t worry – just have a laugh with the Comedy Trust!

A practitioner from the Comedy Trust will be leading a six week workshop to help young people feel more confident and positive by ‘having a laugh’.

The workshops will focus on mindfulness and wellbeing. They will be different each week and will include comedy, creative writing, fun games, performances and a whole lot more.

No experience is needed, workshops are open to all young people aged 16-24 years old.

There’ll be an opportunity to produce work from the sessions for a touring exhibition at the end of the 6 weeks of workshops. The exhibition will develop your curatorial skills including organisational, management, communication, research, writing, decision-making and negotiation skills.

You will also gain team work skills and will gain career knowledge from exposure to heritage, cultural, public and healthcare, raising awareness of new employment avenues.

Workshops are free but places are limited so please book a ticket in advance.

Dates are Sundays 6, 13 and 20 October and Sunday 3, 10, 17 November.

It would be really good if you could attend all six sessions but if you can’t, it’s OK – feel free to book on to the ones that you’re available for.
