Life Drawing

Develop your life drawing skills in an evening workshop with the support of tutors Pam and Paul.

Participants will need to bring their own drawing equipment & materials.

Sessions cost £10 – your ticket here is to guarantee your place, then please bring cash on the night. They regret that they’re unable to accommodate attendees who have not reserved their place in advance.

Life Drawing

Develop your skills in drawing the human body with the support of tutors Pamela Sullivan and Paul Gatenby in their evening life drawing classes.

Participants will need to bring their own drawing equipment & materials.

Sessions cost £10, payable in cash on the night. Booking is essential – you must reserve your place in advance (for free) via Eventbrite. They regret that they’re unable to accommodate attendees who have not reserved their place in advance.

The next session is on Thursday 14th July, 6:30-8:30pm, and on every second and fourth Thursday of the month – next one 28th July, booking open from 15th July.

Skeleton Crafts

Osteoarchaeology or Bioarchaeology is the study of human remains found on archaeological dig sites.

In these workshops, participants can make your own skeleton, learning anatomical names for the different bones as you go in a fun creative activity.

Suitable for all ages

Face Lab 

Drop in for a day of investigation, challenges and discovery.

The Liverpool John Moores University’s Face Lab team will be sharing their incredible work, including the facial reconstruction of Leasowe Man, the oldest surviving skeleton from Merseyside, found on the Wirral shore in 1864.

Two Day Weaving workshops

Learn everything you need to know about warping, stitching, weaving and finishing on this two day rigid heddle loom weaving workshop in Liverpool

In this workshop you’ll learn:

*how to warp your rigid heddle loom

*how to weave with neat edges

*how to sew a hem stitched edge to give your work a beautiful finish

*how to weave with pick up sticks

*finishing techniques

Cathy and Jessamy from LazyKate Textiles will ask your colour choices and dye gorgeous yarns for you to weave with over the two days. They want you to have a real treat.

This workshop gives the time and space to take your time with your weaving, giving you the opportunity to ask those questions and build your confidence.

You can use your own loom or one of theirs, whichever you would prefer.

Beginner’s Spinning workshop

Complete Beginner’s are welcome on this day’s introduction to hand spinning.

Cathy and Jessamy from LazyKate Textiles will talk about fibre preparation, how to choose which fibre to spin, how to wash  and card it and then you will spin your own skein of hand spun yarn to take home.

All materials and the use of the wheel is included in the price

Weave a Scarf workshop

Weave a Scarf in a day using rigid heddle looms and gorgeous hand dyed yarns.

Cathy and Jessamy from LazyKate Textiles will take you through everything you need to know about weaving and will even dye the yarn you’ll use in colours of your choice.

Complete beginners are welcome and all materials and the use of the loom is included in the day.
