Artists – The Royal Standard Summer Fundraiser, held 13 Aug

The Royal Standard are currently hosting an open call for local artists to come and exhibit their work in their gallery!

During their annual summer fundraiser, held 13 August, they will be auctioning off a selection of works from their studio artists and the wider local artistic community at a one day event, accompanied by drinks and a BBQ, to help support local artists and The Royal Standard.

Merseyside artists are invited to submit artworks to be sold in the two auctions we’ll have going on. Artists have the option to submit a maximum of 3x artworks for the main auction and a maximum of 1x artwork for the silent auction.

Please consider the artworks to be submitted as these pieces will have starting bids of £5 – £15 for the main auction and £30 – £50 for the silent auction, so we would recommend smaller works or prints for the main auction and larger works and originals for the silent auction. The profit from each artwork sold will be split 50-50 between The Royal Standard and the artist.

They can accept any and all physical work (paintings, prints, small sculptures, etc.) but will be unable to accept any digital pieces, and all donated work will need to be at TRS before the day in order to be displayed & auctioned off at the event.

They will need a short bio (max two sentences), and the title, dimensions, and starting bid* of your work, along with an image of the work to be used for marketing purposes, to be emailed over as soon as possible.
(* Starting bid prices are £5-15 for the main auction, and £30-50 for the silent auction.)

Please send all submissions to elizabethchallinor@the-royal-standard.co.uk, with the subject “TRS Summer Fundraiser”. From there, they will provide you with further details about dates for dropping off your work for the auction, and the event in general.

Disabled/Neurodiverse artists – Shielded In The Community, closes 17 July

Shielded In The Community is a disabled-led project run in partnership with DaDa Fest and funded by Liverpool City Council.

Mandy Redvers-Rowe is a disabled writer based in Liverpool. Working with producer Harriet Warnock and Assistant Producer Robyn Bowyer. Together they’re delivering this project with a wonderful team of disabled and neurodiverse artists.

All of them had to shield in 2020 and 2021 but, although for many the restrictions have now been lifted, there are still a significant number of people who have to continue to shield.

They are asking Disabled and/or neurodiverse people who live in the north-west of England to take part in this project by responding artistically to their shielding experience – whatever their current shielding status.

There are two ways to engage, either online or by attending a workshop.
