National Museums Liverpool currently have the post of Head of Walker Art Gallery available.

The Walker is one of three galleries in the NML group. Reporting to the Executive Director of Art Galleries, you will lead on delivering the vision and ongoing development of this outstanding gallery.

You will have a focus on building an inclusive visitor offer for a diverse audience, bringing a creative and collaborative approach to working with colleagues and communities while maintaining oversight of the Gallery’s day-to-day management. You will be the client for new developments ensuring the ambitions and needs of the gallery are met.

Responsible for one of the most significant western, fine art collections in the UK, you will support our highly innovative fine art team in their work to display, develop, care for and make accessible these outstanding objects. Partnerships are central to this and you’ll play an important role in maintaining and developing these relationships. Aware of current best practice in the sector and the issues museums and galleries are working with today, you will involve colleagues and stakeholders in developing our aspiration and goals for the Walker.

Assistant tutor – Little Voices, closes 11 Jun

The team are looking for a fun, energetic and passionate assistant to help run the day to day handling of the centres. The role will include a variety of front of house tasks and support roles within their small drama and singing groups to ensure pupils are supported.

The current role is available on Thursdays in Worsley from 5-7pm and Mondays in Bolton from 4.15-7.15pm. Rate of pay for assistant tutor is £11 per hour.

Music Timetable and Administration Officer – Chethams School of Music, closes 19 Jun

The Music Department is at the very heart of the School and is the centre of all students’ musical activities and non-academic studies.

The Department has a lively, busy atmosphere, and aims to deliver the best possible musical opportunities for all its students. Working as a part of a team of dedicated music administrators, the Music Timetable and Administration Officer (MTAO) is one of the central organising roles of the Music Department.

The role has two core remits: act as the primary scheduling role for the string, vocal and composition departments (plus contact points for all Instrumental Music Tutors’/students’ timetable enquiries); the role also offers administrative support to its nominated Head of Department (Head of Vocal and Choral Studies).

The anticipated average split in role remit is 75% scheduling, 25% Head of Department direct support – although this may vary on a weekly basis as required.

Theatre Technician – Shakespeare North Playhouse, closes 18 Jun

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Theatre Technician to deliver the technical aspects of the Playhouse’s work. The post-holder will take responsibility for operating equipment in technical areas within the theatre, performance, and event spaces to ensure the smooth running of Shakespeare North’s productions, workshops, and events.

The post holder will be a key operational member of the technical team and will work on all technical aspects of the production, events and learning programmes as required, they will at times act as duty technician, building duty manager and will need to work with and supervise casual, freelance and contractor staff as scheduled by The Head of Technical and Facilities or the Technical Stage Manager.

Full-time permanent salary will be circa £24,000 per annum, pro rata for the duration of the contract, depending on skills and experience.

Programmes Coordinator/Facilitator – Safe Ground, Social Interest Group, closes 22 Jun

The team are looking for a Programmes Coordinator/Facilitator to support the Safe Ground team and lead on the successful set up, delivery, and evaluation of Safe Ground’s programmatic work.

You will be delivering arts-based interventions to support participants in their personal development, family relationships and rehabilitation. You will be based at HMP Altcourse, developing collaborative partnerships with colleagues at the Visitors’ Centre, as well as key prison teams, wing staff, and most importantly, programme participants.

Rota: Monday to Friday 08:00 – 16:30

ABOUT SAFE GROUND

Safe Ground is an award-winning arts organisation expert in the design and delivery of therapeutic group work programmes. Their work focuses on relationships and identity and uses group work, arts, and drama techniques to support participants to experience alternative perspectives. They have over 25 years’ experience creating spaces in secure and community settings within which transformational change can occur. In November 2022, they became part of the Social Interest Group.

They’re looking for someone with a passion for arts-based interventions, you will see relationships as central to personal development and be creative in your approach to positively influence and persuade others. You will be able to use group work, arts, and drama techniques to support participants to rehearse new behaviours and experience alternative perspectives. You will have excellent communication skills, and support skills.

Job Description

  • Manage events, including programming, budgeting, partnerships, evaluation, health & safety, volunteer recruitment & management.
  • Communications & Promotions, working with the Marketing Manager to produce regular marketing materials for all projects across platforms, create and distribute a quarterly newsletter for the NW region, and contribute to the main Movema newsletter.

Collections Manager – People’s History Musuem, closes 23 Jun

This is an exciting time to join People’s History Museum (PHM) and lead the Collections Team. You’ll develop and launch a new sustainable collecting policy and work with the Head of Collections & Engagement to shape plans for a future redevelopment of the main galleries.

You’ll oversee several live externally funded projects to improve cataloguing and digitisation which form vital building blocks to improving collections management and future engagement with the museum’s collection.

They are looking for a dedicated professional to lead the care and management of PHM’s collection. The ideal candidate will understand current issues and best practice within collections management and curation, and will have strong IT skills to lead on the ongoing development of our digital collections management systems, including our collections management system, EMu, and our new digital asset management system, Axiell DAMS – Powered by Piction.

The Collections Manager is responsible for the management of two Collections Officers, currently working on a project funded by the John Ellerman Foundation to digitise and catalogue PHM’s collection, as well as a new Collections Assistant, funded by the Headley Foundation.

The successful applicant will work closely with the Engagement, Archive, Conservation, and Communications & Marketing Teams on current and upcoming projects, including future exhibition development, digitisation, and sharing our stories with our audiences.

The role would be ideal for someone with experience in collections management and curation, and with strong experience of working with collections management systems. Direct experience with EMu would be an advantage.

MBM are looking for a new Relationship Manager to build and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders, from project participants to funders and commissioners. One of MBM’s values is ‘investing in people’ and this is a key aspect of this role.

The Relationship Manager will also lead on audience development, participant recruitment and the evaluation of our projects; tracking the impact of MBM’s work and then disseminating the findings to relevant stakeholders.

The Relationship Manager will promote MBM at various networking events and assist in generating new business.
