Development Officer, FACT, closes 24 Aug

FACT are looking for a Development Officer to help research, cultivate and manage funding for projects and activities across FACT Liverpool’s artistic programme, including exhibitions, commissions, learning projects, talent development activities and other strategic priorities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leading on monitoring and reporting for current and potential supporters including trusts and foundations, Arts Council England and Liverpool City Council.
  • Supporting the development and writing of applications and proposals.
  • Support the Head of Development to develop and curate effective relationships with individuals and organisations to bring in more funding.
  • Build and manage relationships with “in-kind” supporters.
  • Research potential funders and supporters.
  • Develop and maintain systems to ensure all administration is filed and archived in a systematic and efficient way using the CRM and in-house server.
  • Assist other team members in drafting correspondence and documentation, e.g. emails, letters, reports, briefings.
  • Work closely with Marketing and Communications team to produce and disseminate materials that effectively communicate FACT Liverpool’s Case for Support and fundraising activity, including donations in our building, online and at events.
  • Work closely with Programme and Finance team to ensure all income from grants, trusts, & foundations, subscriptions and donations is routinely and reliably forecasted, recorded, reported and monitored.

Assistant Producer – Production & Programming, Shakespeare North Playhouse, closes 30 Aug

Shakespeare North Playhouse is a unique new arts venue, which opened in July, 2022. It will present a vibrant contemporary cultural and learning programme featuring home co-produced and visiting performances, as well as comedy, music, community work, hire and events and a range of education and training activities.  

The Assistant Producer will provide administrative support to the  Senior Producer, and the wider Culture and Learning Team.  

This is an entry level role that will work with the Senior Producer and the Culture and Learning team in the effective planning and delivery of the creative programme at Shakespeare North Playhouse. The successful candidate will be supported to consider career progression beyond the 12 month contract.

The Assistant Producer for Learning and Engagement will provide administrative support to the Head of Engagement, and the wider Learning and Engagement Team. This is a career development role and an opportunity for the successful candidate to learn more about the arts education sector, gain valuable practical experience in the planning and delivery of arts and cultural events and make connections with other likeminded organisations and individuals.  

They will work with the Head of Engagement and Learning team in the effective planning and delivery of the engagement and learning programme at Shakespeare North Playhouse, and will be encouraged to consider their career progression beyond this 12 month contract.

Marketing Coordinator – Manchester Collective, closes 25 Aug

Project Officer – Sleeping Well in the Early Modern World/Salford Museums & Galleries, closes 15 Aug

The team are excited to be recruiting a fixed term post for a Project Officer, to deliver the public engagement element of a University of Manchester-led research project.

The project that this post will deliver will test how heritage organisations can become important sites for developing public healthcare knowledge in partnership with their visitors, by placing historic healthcare practices at the centre of its public and learning programmes.

This role is managed by the University of Manchester but based largely at Ordsall Hall alongside the site team. It will support the public engagement work of the new research project Sleeping Well in the Early Modern World, funded by the Wellcome Trust.

The Project Officer will be responsible for the effective development, management and delivery of high-quality public engagement and research impact activity. They will bring their rich experience of learning in museums and historic venues to take an active role in developing and strengthening a public programme to support learners of all ages and backgrounds to engage with the project’s research outcomes.

The project is particularly committed to working with young people by offering hands-on outdoor learning opportunities that will complement the PSHE (Personal, Social, and Health Education) objectives now mandatory in primary and secondary schools, emphasising the importance of, and connections between ‘sufficient sleep’ and ‘time spent outdoors’ for the maintenance of physical and mental health.

The post is part time 0.4 FTE, 14 hours per week

Communications & Branding Specialist (freelance) – Manchester Jazz Festival, closes 31 Aug

Manchester Jazz Festival is delighted to invite tenders for this exciting freelance role, which is central to the success of the next annual Manchester Jazz Festival, which will take place May 19 – 28 2023.

The C&BS will be a creative marketeer, with demonstrable experience in designing thoughtful communications strategies and secure knowledge of channel and content planning. They will have a strong track record liaising with arts press, plus experience setting up ticketing systems and ensuring sales targets are met.

The C&BS role is a chance for someone to be part of the mjf team, to revitalise and refresh the mjf image with dynamic festival-specific branding, and to deliver and enhance our audience development plans.

The C&BS will take ownership of how audiences perceive the festival, where they find out about it and then ensure they take that crucial step towards buying a ticket and attending.

TERMS: Self Employed; monthly working days TBA, subject to seasonal fluctuation according to mjf’s output

Gallery Technician – Manchester Art Gallery, closes 9 Aug

Manchester Art Gallery is looking for a skilled, practical and dynamic person to be part of our technical team.

They’re looking for a friendly and collaborative team player with proven experience in packing, moving, installing and de-installing museum collections. You will enjoy solving technical problems and have an awareness of the latest materials for exhibition, display, loan out and storage of art.

You’ll have an appropriate craft qualification or equivalent experience, with excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail. You’ll enjoy learning new things every day, thinking about risks, sharing knowledge, and working in a fast-paced environment with a team of passionate people. Effective communication is essential to this role, as are attention to detail, excellent planning, time management and documentation skills.

Their key priority for the next five years is to deliver a capital programme across all three of their sites to re-think, re-organise and re-home their collections alongside the civic role of the gallery in relation to migration, climate emergency, work, identity politics and health and wellbeing.

You will bring your technical skills and creativity and provide support to a team carrying out high quality installations, collections moves and storage improvements.

Digital Creative Content Maker/Distributor (freelance) – Manchester Jazz Festival, closes 31 Aug

Manchester Jazz Festival is delighted to invite tenders for this exciting freelance role, which is central to the success of the next annual Manchester Jazz Festival (which will take place May 19 – 28 2023), and which will generate year-round strategic outputs for mjf’s talent development and audience engagement strands.

The DCCM&D will be a creative individual, with experience in creating high quality digital content and assets, including short films, photography and any other fun digital content, created inhouse. They will have experience creating fair and complete digital content, with skills in Canva, Adobe, editing software, Illustrator and/or the equivalent.

They will be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and how to shape an online brand presence for the creative industries. The DCCM&D will have experience maintaining and updating a website through WordPress, ensuring that brand guidelines are clearly and consistently adhered to.

They are looking for an individual to revitalise and refresh all mjf digital outputs to deliver and enhance our audience development plans. The DCCM&D will be an individual who is confident in both creating and distributing online digital content strategically and in response to the data we hold about online engagement.

During the festival period, they will work closely with the Communications and Branding Specialist to co-create an online strategy to boost sales and share key press angles to our audiences.

Head of Lighting – Mrs Doubtfire the Musical/Jamie Wilson Productions, closes 6 Aug

Jamie Wilson Productions Ltd is looking for an experienced Head of Lighting for the UK premiere of Mrs Doubtfire the Musical at Manchester Opera House.

Should be experienced in managing a team and coordinating with design team, freelance production staff, venue staff and suppliers.

Basic programming skills and moving light maintenance are useful attributes for the position.
