Liverpool’s iconic waterfront is changing – this Transformation Project will link storytelling, heritage, community, connectivity, and commercial income to create a cohesive visitor experience and catalyst for social and environmental improvements in the area. NML has ambitious plans for their waterfront sites, including transforming the area between the Royal Albert Dock and Mann Island and redevelopment of International Slavery Museum (ISM) and Maritime Museum (MM). Stories Producer – International Slavery Museum, National Museums Liverpool, closes 6 Apr

The International Slavery Museum / Maritime Museum Project is an exciting development for National Museums Liverpool (NML) which will play a significant role in the overall 10-year masterplan to reimagine the iconic Liverpool Waterfront site.

In the next two years they will work with communities to reimagine and reinterpret the collections for both museums, creating new galleries and new ways to discuss our collections and the city’s history.

The Stories Producer will play a central role in the development of both the International Slavery Museum and the Maritime Museum, working with internal content creation teams and external design consultants to develop the interpretation approaches to both museums. The post-holder will be pivotal in the development and delivery of the ISM/MM project through RIBA stages 2 and 3 in order that we can deliver our NLHF Stage 2 application in 2023.

They want to work with communities so a more diverse range of people can create a vision to transform the International Slavery Museum and Maritime Museum. This Project is generously supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund with thanks to National Lottery players. They will place communities at the heart of the waterfront project development and involve diversity of voice and representation. This post-holder will need to ensure that this work is able to drive the design development during the coming months.

This is a unique opportunity for someone with the passion, energy, and dedication to join their Project team in a strategic role that is critical to building relationships and trust with community stakeholders most affected and most invested in the outcomes of the of the International Slavery Museum re-development, and wider Waterfront project.

DaDa is a pioneering disability and Deaf arts organisation based in Liverpool with a national and international reach.

They programme a multi-art form year-round artistic programme that includes high quality festivals, interventions and events as well as support for young and emerging Deaf, disabled and neurodivergent artists.

The Liverpool Empire Theatre has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated individual to join us as a Senior Technician for Lighting and Sound. This role is an integral part of the technical team within this busy regional venue.

You will fully support the Jead of Lighting and Sound in all aspects of lighting and sound, you will  also work with the Technical team to drive forward the highest standards of technical support to visiting comanies and in house projects. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate skills in Lighting & Sound including rigging, focusing, lighting desing work, operation of lighting and sound desks and have prior experience in large scale touring or venues.

The successful candidate must be an excellent team player with great communication skills and the ability to lead and motivate a large casual team as well as an ability to assist on stage when and if required. You will also have a good working knowledge of current health & safety legislation as well as working at height. Marketing and Communications Officer – Heart of Glass, closes 28 Mar

Our ideal candidate is someone with at least 2 years’ experience in a similar role in the media, digital marketing or creative sector. Whilst experience in an arts organisation is not essential, it would be a distinct advantage.

They will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with good attention to detail and well developed editing and proof-reading skills and a high level of IT literacy. They will be able to demonstrate their ability to create and commission effective and targeted multimedia content, including text, photography and video.

They will have the ability to adapt to different and sometimes unexpected situations, and be able to work to tight and sometimes changing deadlines, remaining calm under pressure. They will have the ability to work well as part of a team, but they will also be able to work on their own initiative if the situation demands.

They will have a good understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion, and a commitment to ensuring that Heart of Glass’s collaborators and audiences are representative of the community in which it operates and 21st century Britain as a whole. Whilst not essential, a knowledge of St Helens, Knowsley and the surrounding Liverpool City Region would be an advantage.
