Maintenance Officer – The Shakespeare North Playhouse, closes 16 Mar

The Shakespeare North Playhouse is a unique new arts venue, opening in the summer of 2022.  It will present a vibrant contemporary cultural and learning programme featuring home co-produced and visiting performances, as well as comedy, music, community work, hire and events and a range of education and training activities.

They are looking for a Maintenance Officer who, under the direction of The Head of Technical and Facilities, will be responsible for ensuring that the day-to-day maintenance tasks of Shakespeare North Playhouse are carried out, ensuring that the building is presented to the highest standards and is always safe for use by staff and visitors.

This is an exciting opportunity for experienced Maintenance Officer to deliver the maintenance support for the smooth and professional running of all aspects of Shakespeare North Playhouse’s work.

The post-holder will report to the Technical Stage Manager for Shakespeare North Trust and be a key member of Technical and Facilities team.

Shakespeare North’s full-time employees work a 40-hour week normally over 5 days.

Due to the nature of this role, however, and to meet the demands of the building, the post holder will need to be flexible in their approach to work. Evening and weekend work will be required at times.

The full-time salary will be up to £22,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.

Theatre Technician – The Shakespeare North Playhouse, closes 16 Mar

They are looking for two multi skilled Theatre Technicians who will be responsible for ensuring that the technical aspects, including staging, flying, lighting, sound and video aspects of all performances, event and activities in the Playhouse run smoothly and to schedule.

The post-holder will report to the Technical Stage Manager for Shakespeare North Trust and be a key member of Technical and Facilities team.

Shakespeare North’s full-time employees work a 40-hour week normally over 5 days.

Due to the nature of this role, however, and to meet the demands of the building, the post holder will need to be flexible in their approach to work. Evening and weekend work will be required at times.

The full-time salary will be up to £24,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.

They are looking for an exceptional Head of Fundraising to develop and lead Shakespeare North Playhouse’s Fundraising function. The Head of Fundraising will lead on developing a fundraising strategy, supporting Shakespeare North Playhouse’s financial security by delivering on annual income targets and the aims and ambitions of the organisation.

The post-holder will report to the Director of Marketing and Commercial for Shakespeare North Trust and will have responsibility for two members of staff initially: Sales Executive and Fundraising Assistant.

Shakespeare North’s full-time employees work a 40-hour week normally over 5 days.

Due to the nature of this role, however, and to meet the demands of the building, the post holder will need to be flexible in their approach to work. Evening and weekend work will be required at times.

Lead Tutor (Sound Check Programme) – The Learning Foundry, closes 11 Mar

The Regenda Group are looking to recruit a Sound Check Programme Lead Tutor, to lead on the delivery of their exciting new traineeship programme in partnership with Future Yard.

The purpose of this role is to deliver engaging and inspiring training and employment programmes to support young people to achieve their goals and introduce them to the skills they need to pursue a career in the live music industry. You will support learners to gain hands-on skills at live events, which will lead to opportunities for them to progress into employment, apprenticeships, and/or Further Education.

Based at Future Yard on Argyle Street in Birkenhead, their brand-new Sound Check Traineeship will support young people from all backgrounds to build their skills and knowledge in a real industry setting. The post holder will be a key part of the Soundcheck team, leading the programme and supporting each young person to achieve their full potential.

They are looking for experienced live music industry professionals with equally good communication skills who aims to inspire and enthuse young people with a love of music and support them to build the skills for a future career in the live music industry.

Successful candidates will have a wealth of experience within the live music industry, potentially some teaching experience (though this isn’t essential) and will demonstrate a desire to learn and to develop professionally. The ability to work on your own initiative, but also as part of a team to deliver collective success, is essential.

The post holder will have a  passion to support young people to achieve their full potential, with at least 5 years professional experience within the live music industry.

They are looking for someone who has a robust knowledge & experience of the workings of a grassroots live music venue. They will have the skills to design and deliver engaging training and employment programmes which motivate and inspire young people.

The successful candidate will be a team player, able to work as part of a dynamic team, across The Learning Foundry & Future Yard, with flexibility & an appetite to continually develop. They will have a strong awareness and understanding of the challenges young people may face, including mental health.

A minimum of grade C Mathematics and English or Level 2 Functional Skills, driving license and access to own car are essential for this role.

The post holder will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.

Whilst the post will be 35 hours per week (predominantly Monday – Thursday), the post holder will be required to work Monday evenings and some weekends.

Creative Community Engagement Project Officer – Culture Liverpool, closes 10 Mar

The principal role is to ensure the successful operation of Liverpool Philharmonic’s Learning programmes, coordinating Learning projects, rehearsals, events and activities for children, young people, schools, families, adults and communities.

Choreographer for new youth musical – Oldham Theatre Workshop, closes 4 Mar

The theatre are looking for a dynamic and versatile choreographer to join the creative team of a new youth musical ‘Don’t Turn My Life Into A Musical, The Musical!’ The show will be performed at the Oldham Coliseum Theatre in August 2022.

Their process will begin with 2 days of auditions (12 – 13 March), then a 4-day, residential rehearsal and devising experience in Wales (19 – 22 April) before going into weekly rehearsals at our studios in Oldham Town Centre.

Many of the young cast will have little or no experience in dance and movement but all will have been selected as strong young performers.

A fee will be negotiated with the successful candidate but we typically pay £120 per day / rehearsal.

All travel, food and accomodation will (where appropriate) be covered.
