The band will be supported by Bonnie Kemplay.

The 1975 have released ‘I’m In Love With You’ – the third track from their highly anticipated forthcoming new album ‘Being Funny In A Foreign Language’.

‘I’m In Love With You’ follows recent releases ‘Happiness’ and ‘Part Of The Band’, the band’s acclaimed comeback single which Pitchfork praised as “the kind of grand, playful pop song that only this band could pull off”.

All three tracks will feature on ‘Being Funny In A Foreign Language’, the band’s fifth studio album, released Friday 14th October via Dirty Hit and available to pre-order now at the1975.com.

The 1975 made their long awaited live comeback last month, headlining Japan’s biggest rock festival Summer Sonic 2022 in Tokyo and Osaka before returning for two triumphant homecoming headline slots at Reading & Leeds Festival.

The band were named NME’s ‘Band of the Decade’ in 2020 after being crowned ‘Best Group’ at the BRIT Awards in both 2017 & 2019. Echo & The Bunnymen

In September 2023, Echo & The Bunnymen will perform a series of orchestral concerts celebrating their seminal album Ocean Rain. Performing Ocean Rain in its entirety, they will be joined on stage by The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.

These enchanting musical evenings will take place in Liverpool’s M&S Arena, London’s magnificent Royal Albert Hall, the stunning Usher Hall in Edinburgh and the glorious Nottingham Royal Concert Hall.

Ocean Rain was recorded in Paris with a 35-piece orchestra, produced by The Bunnymen and engineered by Henri Loustau – who spoke no English – with Adam Peters providing the string arrangement and playing both cello and piano; creating a dark ethereal aura throughout the album. The band used more acoustic instrumentation than ever before; drum brushes, autoharps and orchestration which all added to the album’s magical and other worldly beauty.

Songs such as Ocean Rain, My Kingdom, Nocturnal Me, Crystal Days along with the singles Seven Seas, Silver and the majestic masterpiece The Killing Moon, still continue to transcend musical generations to this very day.

Eurovision Song Contest Liverpool

Liverpool will host the 67th Eurovision Song Contest on behalf of Ukraine.

The Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 will take place in the Liverpool Arena next to the River Mersey on Saturday 13 May with Semi-Finals on Tuesday 9 and Thursday 11 May.

The BBC, together with the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), will organise the Contest in consultation with UA:PBC, Ukraine’s public broadcaster and last year’s winners of the Contest.

Liverpool was chosen following a strong city bid process that examined facilities at the venue; the ability to accommodate thousands of visiting delegations, crew, fans and journalists; infrastructure; and the cultural offer of the Host City in reflecting Ukraine’s win in 2022.

Pet Shop Boys

Pet Shop Boys have announced new 2023 dates for their critically acclaimed and sold-out tour, ‘Dreamworld: The Greatest Hits Live’, with tickets available now. The new tour dates kick off with a show at London’s OVO Arena Wembley on 17 June before taking in Aberdeen and Liverpool and then closing in Leeds on 24 June.

‘Dreamworld: The Greatest Hits Live’ tour is Pet Shop Boys’ first ever greatest hits tour and has seen them play shows in the UK and across Europe.

The tour received outstanding reviews with The Guardian describing the Manchester date as “fabulous”, while The Times said the London show was “clever, stylish, sometimes poignant, often euphoric”, and NME praised the Hull performance, describing it as “a two-hour joyous celebration of their decades of holding pop to a higher standard”.

As well as the success of the tour so far, Pet Shop Boys performed a rapturously received headline set last night on The Other Stage at the Glastonbury Festival, closing this year’s 50th Anniversary of the event. The performance is available to watch back on BBC iPlayer here.

Joy Ellis Trio

Joy Ellis is a jazz pianist, singer and composer who, with with long-time collaborators Henrik Jensen on double bass and drummer Adam Osmiansk, will perform new material from her recent album.

In March this year Joy released her third album with long-time collaborators Henrik Jensen on double bass and drummer Adam Osmianski. Recorded at the end of May 2021 her new material has a relaxed and minimalist vibe in keeping with the album’s title, Peaceful Place.

Moving through the pandemic Joy felt there were no words she could sing to capture the grief and sense of loss that she and other people she knew had experienced. Therefore she decided to compose an album with no vocals at all using her other instrument and first love, the piano. Joy has toured all over the UK supported by the Arts Council, England performing her original music at various venues and festivals including Manchester, Cheltenham and London Jazz Festivals and Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club.

The release of this recording is generously supported by Help Musicians Do It Differently Fund.

Dance for Plants: Hot House

Dance for Plants are back to bring you another six-hour sonic adventure! And this time, they’ve bought some of their pals.

We are excited to be playing at Quarry for the first time with two very special guests: Yeti and Rose.

You better believe nothing is off-limits: Bollywood film soundtracks, Italo disco, Arabic reggae, funk and soul heaters, spicy zouk as well as a plethora of niche, wonky electronic stuff!

Like all of our events, this will be not-for-profit, with proceeds donated to Project Seagrass, a UK-based charity that works to maintain marine biodiversity by restoring seagrass species in coastal areas.

As well as this, for every ticket sold, we will be planting a tree with The Future Forest Company. You will even receive a certificate after the event with a unique what3words code so you can see exactly where it is! Come join us to celebrate all that is good about music, and help us do just a little to support our planet. See you there!
