The Liverpool Empire Theatre has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated individual to join us as a Senior Technician for Lighting and Sound. This role is an integral part of the technical team within this busy regional venue.

You will fully support the Jead of Lighting and Sound in all aspects of lighting and sound, you will  also work with the Technical team to drive forward the highest standards of technical support to visiting comanies and in house projects. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate skills in Lighting & Sound including rigging, focusing, lighting desing work, operation of lighting and sound desks and have prior experience in large scale touring or venues.

The successful candidate must be an excellent team player with great communication skills and the ability to lead and motivate a large casual team as well as an ability to assist on stage when and if required. You will also have a good working knowledge of current health & safety legislation as well as working at height. Our ideal candidate is someone with at least 2 years’ experience in a similar role in the media, digital marketing or creative sector. Whilst experience in an arts organisation is not essential, it would be a distinct advantage.

They will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with good attention to detail and well developed editing and proof-reading skills and a high level of IT literacy. They will be able to demonstrate their ability to create and commission effective and targeted multimedia content, including text, photography and video.

They will have the ability to adapt to different and sometimes unexpected situations, and be able to work to tight and sometimes changing deadlines, remaining calm under pressure. They will have the ability to work well as part of a team, but they will also be able to work on their own initiative if the situation demands.

They will have a good understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion, and a commitment to ensuring that Heart of Glass’s collaborators and audiences are representative of the community in which it operates and 21st century Britain as a whole. They are looking for a Maintenance Officer who, under the direction of The Head of Technical and Facilities, will be responsible for ensuring that the day-to-day maintenance tasks of Shakespeare North Playhouse are carried out, ensuring that the building is presented to the highest standards and is always safe for use by staff and visitors.

This is an exciting opportunity for experienced Maintenance Officer to deliver the maintenance support for the smooth and professional running of all aspects of Shakespeare North Playhouse’s work.

The post-holder will report to the Technical Stage Manager for Shakespeare North Trust and be a key member of Technical and Facilities team.

Shakespeare North’s full-time employees work a 40-hour week normally over 5 days.

Due to the nature of this role, however, and to meet the demands of the building, the post holder will need to be flexible in their approach to work. Evening and weekend work will be required at times.

The full-time salary will be up to £22,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.

They are looking for two multi skilled Theatre Technicians who will be responsible for ensuring that the technical aspects, including staging, flying, lighting, sound and video aspects of all performances, event and activities in the Playhouse run smoothly and to schedule.

The post-holder will report to the Technical Stage Manager for Shakespeare North Trust and be a key member of Technical and Facilities team.

Shakespeare North’s full-time employees work a 40-hour week normally over 5 days.

Due to the nature of this role, however, and to meet the demands of the building, the post holder will need to be flexible in their approach to work. Evening and weekend work will be required at times.

The full-time salary will be up to £24,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.

They are looking for an exceptional Head of Fundraising to develop and lead Shakespeare North Playhouse’s Fundraising function. The Head of Fundraising will lead on developing a fundraising strategy, supporting Shakespeare North Playhouse’s financial security by delivering on annual income targets and the aims and ambitions of the organisation.

The post-holder will report to the Director of Marketing and Commercial for Shakespeare North Trust and will have responsibility for two members of staff initially: Sales Executive and Fundraising Assistant.
