The Tung Auditorium, the world-class concert hall based at the University of Liverpool’s Yoko Ono Lennon Centre, is now accepting applications from community music organisations across Merseyside for Affiliate status for the 2025–2027 academic years.
This exciting opportunity, open to two community organisations, offers access to professional-grade facilities and collaboration with the University’s Department of Music. The selected organisations will benefit from up to three concerts per year in The Tung Auditorium on a partnership basis.
Affiliates will be featured as official partners and included in the venue’s public event programme print and online publicity, they’ll be able to access to high-spec in-house technical equipment and backstage facilities on concert days as well as Box Office, Marketing, Front of House and Technical support.
In return, Affiliates are expected to publicise that they are an Affiliate of The Tung Auditorium and host at least one collaborative event per year involving the Department of Music, such as a concert alongside, or workshop with, students, supporting research or performing student compositions as a part of programming.
Application Process
Applications will follow a two-stage process, beginning with an Expression of Interest due by noon on Friday, 30 May 2025.
Please view the full Affiliate scheme information with full details of how to apply here https://thetungauditorium.com/
Shortlisted applicants will be invited for a venue tour before submitting a final proposal.
Organisations are encouraged to demonstrate how affiliation will support their growth and suggest innovative ways to contribute to University life.
The Tung Auditorium and the Department of Music particularly welcome applications from groups under-represented in the arts and academia.
BlackFest are proud to announce the 2025 festival commissions are officially open. They would love to introduce the theme this year: that has organically developed which is looking at the ‘MASCULINE + MASCULINTY,’ and centring the energy. Artists can also consider these themes and again your work does not need to be bound to any theme.
They have centred a lot of great Black Men that will be contributing to the festival this year. Announcements coming soon!

The DoES Liverpool Boost Membership was introduced to celebrate the 10th anniversary of DoES Liverpool – the amazing coworking and shared workshop space in the Fabric District of Liverpool. Boost membership gives two people the opportunity to use the space free of charge for six months either with an allocated desk or by having 24-hour access to the workshop.
As things continue to be difficult for people due to inflation, fuel prices and all the economic woes we’re dealing with at the moment they thought it would be worth pointing out that boost membership is open to anyone, even existing paying members. If 6 months free membership would help you out at the moment then feel free to apply, of course if you’re not already a paying member you are still welcome to apply.
Applications are open until 11:59pm on Saturday 31st May 2025, any applications received after this point will not be considered. They will endeavour to announce the winners as soon as possible afterwards.

Have you been helped by The Whitechapel Centre? Did they help get you off the streets and into a home? Or advised you on how to prevent becoming homeless? Or supported a member of your family? Or have you volunteered with this leading Liverpool charity? Have you worked for them?
The Whitechapel Centre fights to end homelessness but sadly they are 50 this year. Sadly, because they are still very much needed, five decades later. Manager Ruth McCaughley said, “We’re not celebrating our 50th birthday – we’ll only celebrate when homelessness no longer exists. However, we can reflect on the positive impact we’ve made and we’ll be marking our 50th with a series of awareness raising events as we reflect on all the lives we’ve helped transform. So, we’d love to hear from people who have been involved with the charity. Whether it was in the beginning in the mid 70s, or any time since. We want to gather together stories so that we can share them throughout 2025.”
If you have a story about how The Whitechapel Centre helped you / your family, or how working or volunteering for them has impacted your life, please email 50years@whitechapelcentre.co.uk or go to www.whitechapelcentre.co.uk/50years and fill in your details.
Background
The Whitechapel Centre provides vital services that can prevent people from facing a life on the streets. Open every day of the year, the charity aims to be there for those people facing homelessness to help them resolve their situation as quickly as possible. This includes daily services for rough sleepers, expert housing and benefit advice and health and wellbeing support. The charity also provides learning and education activities so that people can gain valuable life skills to help maintain a home, and their independence, such as budgeting, managing their health, smarter food shopping and cooking.
