Venue Technician – Chetham’s School of Music, closes 25 Feb

The music school are seeking skilled, experienced, and independent Venue Technicians to join our Technical team.

The Venue Technicians will work closely with the Technical team to facilitate the smooth delivery of public concerts and events at The Stoller Hall and other performance spaces across the site. Technicians are responsible for operating sound, lighting and increasingly, video and streaming equipment.

Permanent contract with flexible shift work, including evenings and weekends. To start as soon as possible, subject to relevant checks.

Liverpool’s iconic waterfront is changing – this Transformation Project will link storytelling, heritage, community, connectivity, and commercial income to create a cohesive visitor experience and catalyst for social and environmental improvements in the area. NML has ambitious plans for their waterfront sites, including the redevelopment of the International Slavery Museum and the Maritime Museum.

This project is made possible with generous support of £9.9million from The National Lottery Heritage Fund with thanks to National Lottery players and the UK Government’s Levelling Up Fund. These funding supports have made this project a reality by providing the foundations to move forward.

This fixed term role will support the delivery of new visitor experiences and galleries within the International Slavery Museum and the Maritime Museum as part of National Museum Liverpool’s Waterfront Transformation Programme. They’re looking for someone with strong project management experience and excellent communication skills who is confident managing multiple projects and has plenty of creative ideas to contribute to the delivery of memorable visitor attractions.

The Principle role of the Youth Company Manager involves overseeing the delivery of Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Company’s annual programme , leading the implementation of the Youth Company Strategy and supporting participants to develop their skills and talents through ensembles, performance, live events, creative projects and training.

The ideal candidate will drive innovation and continuous improvement in Liverpool Philharmonic’s youth talent development programme, including developing ways of effectively involving young people in the planning and delivery of activity. They will also lead on partnerships with local and national artists and organisations to achieve Youth Company goals.

This is a full-time, permanent post, with an annual salary of £27,500.

Facilities Manager – Manchester International Festival, closes 7 Feb

The Facilities Manager will ensure the Factory building and surrounding public realm and service yards are maintained to the highest standard.

This role will lead the Facilities and Maintenance Teams to develop and embed a cohesive, efficient, cost-effective and robust facilities and maintenance structure whilst always keeping environmental sustainability, access and customers at the heart of what they do.

Responsibilities include

  • Leading on delivery and implementation of capital works, managing capital asset lifecycle, including end of life replacement and strategies to extend working life, delaying final replacement
  • Being responsible for statutory compliance across all building related systems, (including but not exclusively: life systems, legionella testing, and periodic electrical testing) managing regular testing of the fire alarm system and ensuring all required record keeping is robust
  • Being flexible, solution orientated and able to work under pressure
  • Ensuring that the property, soft & hard services, plant and equipment, and the fabric of the building is maintained, tested and inspected, and presented to the highest standard
  • Ensuring that the building is presented to the highest standards and is always safe for use by staff, visitors and anyone else who is within the demise of the building
  • Developing essential building records, drawings and data monitoring from the BMS and CAFM ensuring that information is up to date and relevant
  • Managing waste disposal contracts to effectively dispose of waste in line with the Factory/MIF’s 5-year Sustainability Plan, aiming to reduce the amount of waste going to landfill and increase levels of recycling

Essential requirements include

  • Proven experience of managing and motivating a team to achieve consistently high levels of performance
  • Familiar with Building Management Systems
  • Experience of developing a preventative maintenance plan and capital asset lifecycle strategy
  • IOSH qualified
  • Experience of managing external contractors and contract delivery with robust KPIs

They are now recruiting for a Production Coordinator working within the Learning team based at the National Railway Museum in York.

As a Production Coordinator you will provide the production support needed to deliver live and digital events, activities and programmes to a range of museum audiences on and off site. Reporting to Learning Producers and working alongside Senior Explainers, you will ensure that Science Museum Group learning activities and events for schools, families, adults and community groups are planned and delivered smoothly, successfully and safely.

In a typical day you’ll be coordinating and delivering exciting events and programmes to wow audiences and help with the day-to-day supervision of their fantastic team of ‘Explainers’. Their key deliverable is fun, accessible learning experiences for visitors.

To help you do that, you’ll liaise with a range of exciting and dynamic people both inside and outside SMG to ensure our programmes are relevant, innovative, and of the highest standard, alongside excellent training and upskilling opportunities to help you excel.

You will be trained in our science capital-informed approach and will understand how to apply this in practice. You will gain insights into the operations of a large visitor facing team. Your focus will be on administration, planning and production, but where needed you will also be able to support delivery and work directly with museum visitors.

Joining them you will have experience of researching, planning and supporting learning events, activities or programmes for diverse audiences, while possessing excellent customer service and communication skills.

Lastly, you will also have a flexible and proactive approach to work, in addition to existing experience of utilising strong administrative, organisational and time-management skills to provide support for activities for a broad and diverse range of audiences.

With a new Creative Director, the vision is to develop as a Creative Sanctuary, working with communities and artists and supporting skills, wellbeing, connection and creative work.

Liverpool Lighthouse is a black-led organisation and has a Christian foundation and ethos. The building was originally bought by the church, Love and Joy Ministries and is still used for worship. In partnership both charities; Liverpool Lighthouse and Love and Joy Ministries, are embarking on development the national gospel music centre in the UK.

Liverpool Lighthouse venue programme includes music, theatre, dance, conferences and in 2022 will include a community cinema. The charity’s track record of work with communities including families, young people, elders and refugees and asylum seekers was recognised by the Chamber of Commerce Charity of the Year Award 2018.

Venue Manager is responsible for the venue management and the safe, smooth and efficient operation on a day-to-day basis as well as developing business opportunities, identifying new markets and activity to meet income generation targets. As a black-led organisation with a Christian foundation and ethos, Liverpool Lighthouse is developing as the national gospel music centre. The charity’s track record of work with communities including families, young people, elders and refugees and asylum seekers was recognised by the Chamber of Commerce Charity of the Year Award 2018.

Liverpool Lighthouse is embarking on a new journey with the appointment of a Creative Director and new vision to develop the organisation as an arts and community venue.  They aim to be a beacon of light to the most vulnerable and to work with communities to transform the city.

Young people are a priority focus for the organisation with current work mainly focusing on age 8 – 25yrs. Youth Mentor is a vital role to provide pastoral support to children and young people engaging at LLH to actively support their participation, mental wellbeing and development.

  • Provide pastoral support for children and young people engaging across all LHH youth activity through listening, one to one mentoring, development plans and signposting/supporting them in accessing activity/support externally
  • Support mental wellbeing for young people and work with staff to develop activity and the environment to enhance wellbeing
  • Develop and maintain effective and up to date administrative systems to manage young people’s information.
  • Train and supervise volunteers for Youth Connect activities
